Evacuate. Shelter. Heal. — Emergency animal rescue near the frontline
Ongoing attacks on towns and villages across Ukraine leave animals trapped in basements, abandoned in evacuated homes, injured by shrapnel, and without food, water, or veterinary care. Frontline communities face sudden shelling, power cuts, destroyed roads, and mass displacement; when people flee, many pets and local wildlife are left behind or become impossible to reach safely. Without rapid evacuation, countless animals succumb to wounds, dehydration, disease, or exposure—and overwhelmed local services cannot cope.
"Evacuate. Shelter. Heal." is our rapid-response program: we regularly deploy to frontline regions to evacuate pets and wildlife and bring them straight to our own shelter. There, every animal is assessed and stabilized, vaccinated, treated for parasites, microchipped, and—when needed—spayed/neutered; several cases receive surgery and intensive care. After recovery, we choose the safest path for each life: the animal either remains under our long-term care at the shelter, or is released back into its natural habitat (for wildlife, under proper protocols and law), or is placed with a responsible family through supervised adoption. Your gift directly funds field deployments, fuel, carriers and crates, medical supplies, shelter care, and veterinary teams—turning hours of danger into a clear route to safety and healing. We uphold strict animal-welfare standards, share transparent impact updates, and track outcomes from evacuation to recovery and placement—one life at a time.
Who We Are
Home of Rescued Animals is a Ukrainian nonprofit based in Lviv that rescues, treats, and protects animals affected by war. Our teams evacuate pets and wildlife from frontline communities and bring them to our own shelter for veterinary care, rehabilitation, and safe placement. We reunite animals with families whenever possible, support responsible adoptions, and release rehabilitated wildlife back into their natural habitats. We operate with strict welfare standards and transparent reporting so donors can see real impact, life by life.
