Regulatory framework for the protection of animals from cruelty is governed by the Law of Ukraine "On Protection of Animals from Cruelty" and the following laws of Ukraine:

• "On the Animal World"
• "On Environmental Protection"
• "On Veterinary Medicine"
• "On Ensuring Sanitary and Epidemic Welfare of the Population"
• "On Protection of the Population against Infectious Diseases"

taking into account the specific provisions defined by the Law of Ukraine "On Administrative Procedure" and other regulatory legal acts.

Matters regarding the adoption, entry into force, administrative appeal, execution, and termination of administrative acts in the field of animal protection from cruelty are regulated by the Law of Ukraine "On Administrative Procedure," taking into account the specific provisions defined by the Law of Ukraine "On Protection of Animals from Cruelty."

Important! If an international treaty of Ukraine establishes rules for the protection of animals from cruelty that differ from those provided by this Law, then the rules of the international treaty of Ukraine shall apply.
